King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) welcomes its newest resident partner to the KAUST Research and Technology Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony that took place on May 9, 2017.
With the opening of an Electron Microscopy Center of Excellence, Thermo Fisher enters the research park as the sixteenth resident partner. Its presence adds to the unique ecosystem at the park by providing KAUST partners with deep application knowledge in materials science at their doorstep.
In addition to their presence at the research park, KAUST celebrates the official commissioning of the Titan Themis Z scanning transmission electron microscope (S/TEM), the most advanced analytical transmission electron microscope available to date and the first to be installed in the world. This system joins other highly advanced electron microscopy systems already installed at KAUST, including 16 FEI electron microscopes.
